USA for UNFPA notes with great sadness the passing of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Justice Ginsburg’s career-spanning positions against discrimination and her championing of gender equality and women’s rights resonate deeply with USA for UNFPA’s vision and values. Like Justice Ginsburg, we passionately believe in a world where each and every person can live a life of their own choosing to its fullest potential.

USA for UNFPA notes the profound personal loss many feel with Justice Ginsburg’s passing. She was an intrepid defender of gender equality and an empathetic human being. She was an inspiration for women and played a transformational role in many lives and in shaping U.S. history. In her work, she paved the way for other women to have a place in decision-making positions.

“Justice Ginsburg fought for the most vulnerable,” said Amanda Seller, USA for UNFPA’s Executive Director. “We strive to embody that same spirit in the work we conduct each and every day.”

“Her legacy,” said Jacob Onufrychuk, Chair of USA for UNFPA’s Board of Directors, “proves the deep impact an individual can make on society.”
