A LEGACY OF FREEDOM AND CHOICE

ENSURING WOMEN HAVE MORE OPTIONS THAN PREVIOUS GENERATIONS

“I wonder what my great-grandmother’s life would have been like if she had access to family planning.”

By including USA for UNFPA in her will, Nancy is ensuring that future generations of women can decide whether and when to have children.

Nancy Lothringer’s reasons for supporting USA for UNFPA are personal:

“So many lives could have been improved if my relatives could determine whether, when, and how many children to have.”

Nancy’s great-grandmother gave birth to 20 children. Only 15 lived past childhood. In the countries where UNFPA works, the situation today is not that different: 214,000,000 women want to avoid pregnancy but face significant obstacles to using modern contraceptives.

“While this problem may seem daunting, the means to addressing it are within reach,” Nancy says. To honor her family, Nancy wants her legacy to be a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person’s potential is fulfilled. That’s why she joined the USA for UNFPA Legacy Society by including us in her estate planning.

Both today and for generations to come, Nancy’s generosity will provide women with the resources they need to plan their families—and lead rich and fulfilling lives. As she puts it, “Women and girls need us. That’s why I’ve included USA for UNFPA in my will, and why I hope my fellow supporters will, too.”
