Board Member

USA for UNFPA is seeking mission-driven leaders to join its Board of Directors and help advance a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person’s potential is fulfilled. At a pivotal moment for global sexual and reproductive health and rights, board members play a critical role in expanding American awareness, philanthropy, and support for UNFPA’s lifesaving work.
As a volunteer board member, you would join a principled, collegial, and dedicated group that provides governance, leadership, and oversight of the organization. Your voice and expertise will create new opportunities for women and girls; your philanthropy will drive transformative change; and your commitment will inspire others to get involved.

Board Vision

The USA for UNFPA Board of Directors plays a vital role in elevating UNFPA’s mission within American dialogue and philanthropy. Comprised of remarkable leaders from diverse backgrounds, the Board is active and engaged in setting strategy, providing guidance to executive leadership, and supporting the organization in achieving its ambitious goals. The Board reflects a broad range of lived experiences, professional backgrounds, and perspectives, including gender diversity, because we believe diverse leadership produces better decisions and stronger outcomes. All members are committed to the organization’s long-term financial sustainability.

Why Join?

Board members will have the opportunity to shape strategy, expand philanthropic support, engage with global experts, and help bring UNFPA’s mission to the forefront of American dialogue. Members may also have opportunities to visit field sites and see firsthand the impact of UNFPA’s work.
