“I am absolutely thrilled and honored to be joining USA for UNFPA as their new Executive Director at such a critical and important time. ” -Amanda Seller

USA for UNFPA, the official U.S.-based nonprofit for UNFPA, the United Nations reproductive health and rights agency, is excited to announce Amanda Seller as the organization’s Executive Director.

Amanda joins USA for UNFPA having worked as a leader in global resource mobilization and communication roles for over 20 years. She has a track record of delivering significant funding and awareness growth in her previous roles.

“We are thrilled to welcome Amanda as we work to further UNFPA’s critical mission of ensuring every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person’s potential is fulfilled,” said the Chair of USA for UNFPA’s Board of Directors, Jacob Onufrychuk. “She will work together with our Board, staff, and UNFPA to guarantee USA for UNFPA is best equipped for the future.”

Most recently, Amanda spent the last 12 years focused on humanitarian causes – first, when leading UNHCR’s global fundraising program, and more recently as International Rescue Committee’s Senior Vice President for Global Partnership and Philanthropy.

Amanda has a background in journalism and communications and was previously based in the United Kingdom, working on a range of causes such as homelessness, alcohol addiction and women’s domestic violence.  Amanda has a particular passion for advancing digital innovation in the non-profit sector, and for coaching and mentoring local NGO partners and future NGO leaders.

“I am absolutely thrilled and honored to be joining USA for UNFPA as their new Executive Director at such a critical and important time.  The challenges our beneficiaries are facing and the support they receive from UNFPA is more pressing than ever in this challenging pandemic; and Friends is deeply committed to rising to this challenge. I look forward to working with many of our supporters and advocates.”
