Dennia Gayle, UNFPA’s Country Representative in Ethiopia spoke with Roger Nokes, USA for UNFPA’s Communications Director, on what motivates her, the biggest challenges she faces in Ethiopia, and how UNFPA is managing the emerging crisis in Tigray, Ethiopia. You can watch the full conversation here.  

Dennia is a native of Costa Rica. She has served UNFPA in Latin America and the Caribbean in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Jamaica, and Antigua. In Africa, she has worked in Uganda, Ghana, Namibia, and finally, Ethiopia. This is part of our UNFPA Around the World series in which we speak with experts about what it’s like to support women and girls from a UNFPA country office.
