Now in the fifth year of war, Ukraine continues to endure ongoing attacks, electricity, heat, and water outages, and limited access to healthcare, leaving the lives of women, girls, and their families on the line.
Since the war began, UNFPA teams on the ground have:
  • Reached more than 350,000 women, girls, and families with sexual and reproductive health services
  • Operated 312 healthcare facilities, including underground maternity bunkers where women can safely give birth during attacks
  • Distributed 20,000+ Dignity Kits to women and girls in need of period products and essential care items, including specialized kits for older women
We continue to do everything we can to deliver lifesaving care, but more than one year after the U.S. government cut funding for our humanitarian response programs, aid to 750,000 women and girls in Ukraine has stopped.
