2025 was a year of profound loss—but thanks to you, we have continued to stand strong for women and girls. Thank you for delivering care and hope in a year shaped by crisis and loss.
When the U.S. government abruptly withdrew all funding from UNFPA last year, more than $377 million in committed support was eliminated overnight. At the same time, the world did not slow down. Conflicts in Sudan, Gaza, Haiti, and Ukraine intensified. Climate disasters displaced millions. Women continued giving birth. Girls continued getting their periods. But the care they relied on was suddenly gone.
One year later, the consequences are measurable and severe. In Ukraine, 640,000 women and girls have lost access to mental health support. In Afghanistan, 400 women’s clinics serving 9 million women have closed. In Sudan, more than 1.1 million pregnant women have gone without prenatal and postnatal care. Across the world, another 12 million women and girls are on the brink of losing essential sexual and reproductive health services.
These losses are real. They are ongoing. But, despite all of it, you made sure women and girls were not left without care. Together with an extraordinary coalition of partners, donors, and advocates, your support prevented 17 million unintended pregnancies, averted 38,000 maternal deaths, ensured the safe delivery of 749,000 babies in humanitarian settings, and sustained 1,400 safe spaces for women and girls facing violence.
After the withdrawal of U.S. government funding, the UNFPA Supplies Partnership became the only—and the largest—global provider of contraceptives to public health programs. This work is not only urgent; it is among the most effective investments in global health. Every dollar spent ending unmet need for contraception yields nearly $27 in economic benefits.
None of this would be possible without your partnership.
In the pages that follow, you will meet some of the women behind these numbers. Jamila, in rural Bangladesh, lived with an obstetric fistula for more than twenty years until a UNFPA-supported surgery restored her health and dignity. Anna, in Ukraine, escaped years of abuse with nothing but a borrowed bus ticket and found security and support at a UNFPA safe space. And Aisha, a young girl displaced in Gaza, told us that sometimes she needs pads and soap more than she needs food. Because of you, UNFPA was there for each of them.
This year also revealed something remarkable about this community. Individual donors gave more generously than ever before. Foundations and corporate partners deepened their commitments. Companies donated supplies, transportation, and expertise. And supporters who could not give financially used their voices to rally lawmakers and their own communities to support women and girls when it mattered most.
The losses of 2025 were real. But so are Jamila, Anna, and Aisha—and the millions of women and girls like them who received care because of you.
In a year that tested this mission, you ensure it endured.

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT:
ISLAMIC RELIEF USA
USA for UNFPA and Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) share a deep commitment to ensuring that even in the most dire circumstances, mothers, newborns, and healthcare workers are not left behind. Through this partnership, we reached thousands of new mothers across the West Bank with critical postpartum supplies, kept young midwifery students in Gaza in school despite economic collapse and displacement, and empowered hundreds of young people to become community leaders and advocates for reproductive health and protection—even amid ongoing crises. In total, this work reached nearly 9,500 people directly, 73% of them women and girls, and an estimated 18,000 more indirectly through the ripple effects of trained midwives, empowered youth, and healthier families.
By the project’s close, six of the midwives we trained had already been hired into permanent positions—a small but powerful sign that this investment will echo far beyond the life of the project. We are deeply grateful to Islamic Relief USA for their commitment, their trust, and their shared belief that even in the most difficult circumstances, dignified, lifesaving care is possible.

Our focus is ensuring that every woman and girl has the education, access, and financial resources required to shape her own reproductive future.
Investing in women and girls is essential to unlocking economic potential and addressing global challenges. With Organon, we are leading this work—championing solutions that strengthen autonomy, expand opportunity, and support healthier futures.
Through our collaboration, we have supported women from India to Berlin to Nairobi, helping them gain the knowledge and tools needed to make informed decisions about their reproductive health. We are deeply grateful to Organon for their continued collaboration and passion to expanding access to lifesaving care for women and girls.
THE BLOOM AFRICA
For millions of girls around the world, menstruation is not just a fact of life—it is a barrier to education, dignity, and opportunity. In October 2025, The Bloom Africa donated over $1.2 million worth of period underwear to USA for UNFPA. Together with UNFPA and Delta, we were able to distribute more than 25,000 pairs of period underwear to women and girls in communities and displacement camps.
In Lagos, 9,000 pairs of reusable menstrual underwear were donated to students, health workers, and youth advocates with a shared goal: ensuring no girl misses school because of her period. In Maiduguri, thousands more pairs were distributed to internally displaced girls who had lost access to desperately needed hygiene supplies.
We’re grateful to Tosin Durotoye—founder and executive director of The Bloom Africa and a member of USA for UNFPA’s Board of directors—for spearheading this incredible partnership and ensuring thousands of women and girls could manage their periods safely, confidently, and without shame. We’re also thankful to Delta Airlines for offering to transport the products, free of charge, so they could get into the hands of girls who needed them most.

OUR FIRST MILLION-DOLLAR GIFT FOR DIGNITY KITS
In 2025, USA for UNFPA received its first gift of $1 million or more designated entirely for Dignity Kits—a milestone that speaks to both the urgency of this work and the depth of trust our donors place in us to deliver it.
The donor has long believed in the power of direct, tangible support for women and girls navigating crises. At $15 a kit, her gift funded more than 73,000 Dignity Kits distributed across 40 countries.
Each woman who receives a Dignity kit receives more than just the supplies they need to maintain their periods and hygiene—they receive evidence that someone, somewhere, chose to act on her behalf. That is the trust our donor placed in us.
20K FIRST RESPONDERS AND COUNTING
In 2025, we unveiled our First Responder program. First Responders receive text updates with breaking news alerts and time-sensitive advocacy opportunities—because when crisis strikes and women and girls need care, every second counts.

SUPPORT THE UNFPA FUNDING ACT
When U.S. government funding for UNFPA was cut, the Support UNFPA Funding Act was introduced in both the U.S. House and the Senate with the goal of securing vital funds for women and girls for the next five years. We asked our community to raise their voices for women and girls in support—and you did not disappoint.
4,681 letters were sent to members of Congress asking them to co-sponsor the Support UNFPA Funding Act. Thank you to our passionate community for lending your voice to this lifesaving work!

In 2025, we raised more than $12 million for women and girls—marking our highest revenue year yet. And thanks to our donors, partners and supporters we have raised a total of nearly $40 million of our $100 million goal by 2030.
Early in 2025, the U.S. government fully defunded UNFPA’s lifesaving work, forcing clinics to close and leaving millions of women without care. But this community responded with generosity we had never seen before. Because of you, we continued providing lifesaving care to women and girls globally, including in humanitarian crises. Thank you for being there, no matter what.
