Digital Fundraising Associate
USA for UNFPA, established in 1998 and headquartered in New York City, is the U.S. national committee for UNFPA, the United Nations Sexual and Reproductive Health Agency. LOCATION: Hybrid, in commuting distance to DC or NYC offices
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, Employee
SALARY RANGE: $50,000 to $60,000 commensurate with experience
POSITION SUMMARY
USA for UNFPA is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Digital Fundraising Associate to support our Individual Giving team in executing our rapidly growing direct marketing program.
Reporting to our Retention Marketing Manager, this position will focus on developing and launching digital fundraising content, primarily across our email and SMS channels. This role will play a key role in stewarding, renewing, and upgrading our first-level, mid-level, and sustaining donors. Opportunities to collaborate on our donor acquisition programs, direct mail program, and social media may also be available.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

In collaboration with the team, assist in developing our donor content calendar and strategy for email marketing and SMS.

Draft and/or edit compelling direct response content for email, SMS, and potentially other channels that inspire long-term relationships with our donors and motivate them to renew or upgrade their gift.

Lead production process for emails, text messages, and landing pages across the digital fundraising program. This includes managing proper segmenting and targeting.

Assist in updating and enhancing existing donor journeys or targeted series.

Serve as a resource for other team members and collaborate on cross-department efforts that involve digital mass marketing.

Test and optimize tactics, and track and analyze metrics, to help develop data-driven organizational best practices for fundraising. This includes running A/B tests on content elements and disseminating the learnings across the team.

Execute efficient and accurate quality assurance (QA) checks on outbound content.

Assist in rapid response fundraising efforts during humanitarian emergencies. This can very occasionally include work at night and weekends.

Support other functions of the Marketing & Communications team or the greater organization when required.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2+ years of digital fundraising experience. Preferably at a non-profit organization, but electoral or agency experience will also be considered.

Proven experience drafting and editing mass market fundraising copy — especially for email marketing.

Demonstrated experience with email marketing tools such as EveryAction, NGP, Action Kit, Action Network, Luminate, Salesforce, Mailchimp, Engaging Networks, or others.

Experience with donation processing platforms like FundraiseUp, ActBlue, Anedot, or others.

Comfort with interpreting HTML and CSS code. More advanced knowledge is helpful.

Ability to interpret and analyze complex issues and represent such information in a clear and concise written manner for lay audiences.

Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and manage projects simultaneously with independence.
